Alleging partiality in forms distribution, local hawkers thronged KHADC 1

Shillong: Local hawkers today thronged in the KHADC premises to protest the alleged partiality in distribution of forms.

The Enforcement wing of KHADC on 30th October distributed forms to hawkers within the Council’s jurisdiction in Iewduh and areas surrounding it. The form is introduced in order to identify local hawkers and the area each occupied. This is also to check the illegal trading activities of non-tribal without trading license.

Today, the local hawkers complain that forms were distributed without any pre-notice. This they said has created confusion so much among hawkers so that some are deprived the area they have been occupied so far. They also alleged that this has created divisive feelings among them.
The CEM KHADC bah Teinwell Dkhar assured the protesting hawkers that he will look into the matter. he also asked them to bear with the Council and give him some time to bring the most satisfactory solution.
