Shillong: In the last two weeks the Governor of Meghalaya has been on the news but for controversial reasons. First, he refused the ‘Administrator’s Rule’ recommendation of the MDA government. Second, he delayed the signature of the MRSSA Ordinance and third, he gave full support to CAB. These very issues are at the heart of the sentiments of the indigenous people in the state. That the Governor choose to act on the contrary to the interests of the people has attracted furious response from many corners.
Today, ex- CEM KHADC bah HS Shylla said, “This Governor, Tathagata Roy is not fit to be governor in any of the states because of his bipartisan politics.” Shylla said this today after the General Meeting in Shillong today.
CoMSO General Secretary Roy kupar Synrem said, “we demand that the governor sign the MRSSA or go back to where he came from.”
