Army has no right to fight against unarmed Civilians:Rymbui 1
Gorkha Regiment in Umwali Village on Sunday.

Nongstoiñ: Newly appointed Home Minister, Ma Lahkmen Rymbui is candid on what happened yesterday at Umsawli where Assam Police brought Gorkha Regiment personnel to intimidate civilians of the area which created a war-like situation.

He said that Assam police might have justified reason in their own terms in doing so but the genuine approach to the issue is and must be to maintain the status quo as was agreed by both sides in the past.
He also maintain that it is not right to resort into any activity that will intimidate the unarmed civilians such as the deployment of armed personnel. Meghalaya is committed towards ensuring safety of the people there. The Chief Minister of both sides will soon meet to resolve the issue, he added.
