Nongpoh: The misery of villagers in Assam-Meghalaya border is indescribable.
Khliehumwang is one of such. Much worse is the fact that innocent children had to suffer when their right to dignified school building was snatched by the inhuman act of Assam which brought down to rumble their old building. The Meghalaya government too pays an adamant attitude when now for almost two years since the destruction no initiative is seen.
Managing Committee and the teachers of the SSA LP School at Khliehumwang, rose to the occasion to offer temporary shed for students to resume learning. But that too, could not last long. Until they make again, the time for school is late. This affects not just the shelterable place of learning but its duration as well.
Thus, the Conrad government cannot hide in silence for long. It must act and show concern for its own people who suffer for a fault not of their own.
