JOWAI: The Body of the Elaka Chief –Dolloi of Rymbai Elaka, Elios Swer and his brother inlaw were recovered however, the body of the Dolloi’s Nephew have not been located and the rescue teams which include the SDRF, the Meghalaya Fire Service Team along with Civil Defense personnel are still at the site to locate the body.
Both the bodies were pulled out by locals one from Hingaria village and the body of the dolloi was pulled out by the assistant headman of Kwator village, Ishrom Mynthlu.
The SDRF and the Meghalaya Fire Service Rescue Team along with 5 Personnel of the Civil defense were deployed for operation.
However, by the time the rescue teams arrived at around 2pm both the bodies have already been pulled out.
The road condition to reached the Prang River is in apathetic condition and has take lots of times for the SDRF team to arrive.
No one could reach the incident site, boats are needed to travel for more than one hour upstream and back to the Prang bridge took less than one hour.
Family, friends and relative of the Dolloi has to wait in the bridge.
After the two bodies recovered by locals the rescue teams with their motored air pump boat rowed to the incident site to locate the body of the Dolloi’s Nephew, however till 7 O’clock evening, the search and rescue team could not located the body.
Locals along with the rescue teams are still on their job and it will be continued tomorrow if they fail to fish out the body to night.
It may be mention that the Dolloi along with 5 other were travelling by a country boat to Hunguria village to conduct a survey of a disputed plot of land as he (the Dolloi) is the Judge of the village Court, not as mentioned earlier that he had gone there for fishing.
