In recent weeks people of the JHADC witnessed the fence crossing by some of their MDCs from UDP to BJP. According to State Party president Shibun Lyngdoh some from the Congress and even more will join the wagon.
Lyngdoh attributed the crossing to acute cash crunch that left the MDCs and staffs of JHADC go penniless over the past five to six months. He also said that they see it is only the BJP which can salvage them out from the crisis and once again bring hope to the Council and its people.
Apart from this, the president attributed to the fact that like the MDCs in Mizoram the JHADC MDCs also see that the amendment of the Sixth Schedule will only be made possible by the BJP
Switching allegiance from party to another is permissible in District Councils, so there is nothing wrong in their jumping fence to join the party of their choice he said.
