Shillong: Shri Conrad Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, yesterday inspected the Umiam Viewpoint along with the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Smt Matsiewdor War along with other government officials.
After his visit, Sangma wrote in his twitter account “Inspected the site for creating new tourism infrastructure at Umiam Lake view point, which includes rope way, restaurants and stalls for vendors. @mesmerisingmegh @incredibleindia”.
Thus shows, that the state government, has a plan to improve the view point, with construction of rope ways, restaurants and other stall in the view point.
Earlier in the past, Shri Conrad Sangma, has taken initiative to clean the Umiam Lake, with the involvement of the Tourism Department, office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, etc.
