Shillong: Seng Samla Bhalang Nongkhyriem, Nongthymmai in collaboration with Nehru Yuva kendra Sangathan(NYKs) Shillong, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports,Govt. of India organized a one day programme the Block Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament under Mawpat Block in the venue Dinet Manik Syiem Memorial Higher Secondary School, Nongthymmai September 6, 2019 in the presence of Wansuk Kharkongor (National Youth Volunteer) of the Block.
Dr. Jemino Mawthoh, Ex MLA Nongthymmai, Bah Joshua Rynjah, Lecturer Department of English, St Mary’s College, kong Ebiangmidaka Kharshandi, ANM Nongthymmai UPHC and Bah Anthony Syiemiong, Director Manbha Foundation, Shillong were the resource persons.
General Secretary Synsharlang.L.Rngaid host the programme and welcome speech was offered by the President Bhalang Nongkhyriem, Samla Bankerlang Kharpran. Dr Jemino Mawthoh speaks on “Environment Conservation and Volunteerism” in which he stressed on the need to maintain cleanliness beginning from one’s own home and in public places, work place and educational institutions. He also reminds on how plastics has become one of the big hurdles in saving environment. The speaker recalls a time when “ka plaiew” was popularly used. He then calls for taking responsibility and cooperation of one and all towards creating a clean environment.
Bah Joshua Rynjah Lecturer Department of English St Mary’s College,Shillong spoke on “Education” and its importance whether offline or online. He urged participants to double check with diligence of mind and perception and to “THINK before You SHARE”.
kong Ebiangmidaka Kharshandi ANM Nongthymmai UPHC spoke on “Health,Family Welfare and Nutrition” which concerns over good health Bah Anthony Syiemiong Director Manbha Foundation,Shillong lectured on “Social Issue” particularly in relation to alcoholism and drug addiction. The principal of the school also gave a speech expressing sheer gratefulness to the Synjuk for this programme.
