Bah RM Shabong

Few months ago, the Wall of the Teinwell Dkhar led Executive Committee of Khasi District Council collapsed. Now the Latiplang led UDF EC is getting stronger as two of the Former EC’s member belonging to the UDP pledges support. The members are: bah Paul Lyngdoh and Bah Teibor Pathaw.

This comes after the HC’s judgement in favour of the current EC. Here it is clear that the Conrad Sangma government is swimming in waters of defeat. In the first place, the Teinwell Dkhar EC could not survive its full term and now it even failed in the last straw which it hangs on that is, the order for Administrator’s Rule. That the defeat comes one after another, now it is to lose some feathers of its own ally. UDP’s bigwigs are to hold responsibility for this further deterioration.

this includes the ex-CEM, bah Teinwell, and as a sign of taking moral responsibility he must volunteer to step down. That he must have done immediately after his EC’s collapse to give way to another leader to take up leadership.
the support of these two UDP MDCs to the bah Latiplang Kharkongngor’s EC clearly shows that now it will not be easy for the UDP-NPP group to pull down the current EC.
Worry signs is sure to appear as more members will think of following suit apart from the intra-fight for power. The MDA government will have to quickly find a quick fix before it is too late.
As for now, it is a time of fingers crossed observing on what will emerge from this situation. The Sangmas, Prestone and Metbah calculation must match the lone PN Syiem’s.
