Deforested KHADC forests, irked EM 1

Shillong: The Executive Member Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) bah Victor Ranee expressed shock and grief on finding that the Council’s forest is deforested.
Speaking to newspersons bah Victor said that the trees planted at Arodonga, at Lailad, and at Byrnihat are completely felled by timber smugglers.
Therefore, strong warning is issued to forester guarding those forest and any negligence of duty will invite legal action.
The EM also said that the initiative to reforest the area is already started with the Centre.
