Khliehriat: the KSU Jaintia Hills District Unit express concern over the inaction and delay of the government to procure land for placing entry and exit points at Malidor East Jaintia Hills.
The Unit’s leaders on Friday, met the Deputy Commissioner East Jaintia Hills u Bah FM Dopth to inquire on the matter in which the DC informs them that the land having 60000 sqft is already identified but due to the in exorbitant rate (more than 2 crores) the land procurement process gets delayed. Unless the the entry and exit points are erected the District Task Force will not be possible to put in place. The DC advised the KSU that they can also meet the Director ka Tnad Tourism because it is the Nodal authority responsible for land transaction.
SS Niangti Finance Secy KSU JHDU told the media that they are utterly disappointed over this unnecessary delay to erect entry and exit points. This is not the first time that this youth body inquire but the same problem persists.
He also stressed the urgency of the matter particularly in light of what is to follow when Assam would finally release its first draft of the NRC. Therefore, this KSU unit leaders urged the government to speed up the process and show utmost sincerity to prevent influx.
