Garo giant reptile saved, 5 poachers arrested 1

Shillong: 5 men held by South Garo Hills District Police for poaching one Garo Giant reptile which has become a rare species nowadays. Police then freed the reptile and handed over to forest officials to do the needful. The five men will be interrogated by the police.

Similar case was also found recently by Assam police. When interrogated, the reptile which was bought belong to Meghalaya.
This is sheer example of a collision between traditional sporting activities and modern consciousness of saving animals that are especially endangered.
