Shillong: West Khasi Hills has been on the news for decades for a burning issue-uranium mining.
Last Friday evening two geologists Suhrit Pramanik and Sushanta Layek were attacked and injured by two unidentified masked men. Pramanik suffered more injuries but both were taken to Nongstoin Civil Hospital then to Shillong. The incident took place at 5:30PM while they were making survey at Mawtepiew near Rambrai.
