Shillong: The Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC), has filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court against the order of the Meghalaya High Court, directing the residents of Them Iew Mawlong, to co operate with the Shillong Municipal Board and submit the list of the genuine settlers in the area.

On the above petition, the Supreme Court yesterday directed the Government of Meghalaya, to reply in three weeks’ time.
The Meghalaya High Court, last June, has directed the Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) to cooperate with the state government and submit the information to the Shillong Municipal Board on the genuine residents in the area.
