HAWKERS ORDERED TO STOP HAWKING WITHIN DISTRICT COUNCIL JURISDICTION: KHADC 1

Shillong: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council has issued notice that all non-tribals with no trading license from the Council should stop carrying out their doing business within its jurisdiction with effect from the 14th October, 2019.

The Council found that there are many Non-tribal hawkers are carrying out their hawking business with no trading license.


Therefore, in accordance with the United Khasi-Jaintia Hills (Trading by Non-Tribals) Regulation 1954 Act has banned all non-tribals from carrying out businesses without valid license from the Council. This will take effect from the 14th of this month.
The notice was signed by the Secretary to the Executive Committee, KHADC bearing the reference no. DCRBF/VIII/320/2019/3 dated Shillong the 4th October, 2019.
