Shillong: Bah Prestone Tynsong, the NPP leader and Dy.Chief Minister today told media persons that he is eager to be the party’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha if the party choose him to be.
Recently, the NPP state president, Bah W. R. Kharlukhi’s name appear on the list as candidate to the Rajya Sabha but he declined. Tynsong said that as of now it is too early to say whom will his party send as there are many equally qualified contenders. If the party wish to send him, he is more than ready to take up the opportunity.
He also said that this time the opportunity belongs to the NPP since in the last Lok Sabha election the MDA gave its unanimous support to UDP leader, Dr. Jemino Mawthoh who lost badly to Congress candidate, bah Vincent Pala.
The election to the Rajya Sabha will be held on April this year when Congress MP, Kong Wansuk Syiem’s time will expire after a six year term.
