Shillong: The Khasi Students Union (KSU) came heavily on the government on its indifference to the stalemate between the company and its employees which turned the general public as the scapegoats.
Speaking on his visit to the agitating employees President KSU bah Lambokstarwell Marngar said, the agitation by them speaks volumes of their role in public service.
“GVK is not the apple of an eye for the government to stay away from intervention” said the KSU president.
He also points that no company from outside will be doing any service business without profit. It is profit they are looking for which makes them so complacent at the pathetic condition of patients caused by this unsolved stalemate. The government on the other hand cannot wash its hands but do what it ought to as the machinery of the people. The government cannot play with human lives.
FKJGP president Dundee Khongsit also came heavily on the government warning that if the stalemate continues, it will be compelled to take decisive actions.
also seen visiting the agitating employees is the Meghalaya People Labour Union (MPLU) under the leadership of bah Batskhem Basaiawmoit showing solidarity with them.
the GVK EMRI employees has been on a hunger strike for many long days to force the company to address their grievances.
