Agartala: Senior NE Congress leaders accused Central leadership of a plot against some of them including former Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma.
Pradyot Manikya Debbarma, recently resigned Congress chief of Tripura alleged this in his letter to Luizinho Faleiro, General Secretary AICC. The plot was to dislodge them from their post as party chief. Debbarma cited examples of such incidents already seen in case of congress chief in other NE States like Manipur and Sikkim including Tripura.
According to him, Faleiro dislodged TN Haokip of the Manipur president post while the latter was at Janta Mantar protesting against CAB prior to the Lok Sabha election. The same was done to Birajit Sinha of Tripura Debbarma alleged. He further accused the AICC leader of corruption in the recent Sikkim election wherein Bharat Basnet, President of Sikkim PCC, an honest man was paid less than 60 percent from the amount sanctioned for canvassing in the election.
Debbarma tendered his resignation on the 16th of September 2019 to the general secretary AICC Luizinho Faleiro while also spilling the beans against this Central leader who he said had connivance with BJP in the North East.
