Shillong: Aiborlang Khongjee penalty in the 90 minute give Rangdajied United defeat Ryntih 1-0 in the Shillong Premier League at the JN Stadium here yesterday.
Cheers by their fans, Ryntih looked the better team, but they couldn’t find a finishing shot that would put them into the lead. Rangdajied, meanwhile, came closest in the first 45 minutes when Mebankhraw Wahlang’s header to meet a Khongjee free-kick was blocked by Ryntih goalie Maitshaphrang Kharumnuid in the dying seconds of the half.
Ryntih’s fans were very aggressive and vocal for their team after Allen Lyngdoh Nongbri headed a Sohktung cross onto the crossbar. Milancy Khongstia on the right also looked very dangerous for Ryntih, sprinting up the flank and deliver exquisite crosses into the box time and again.
