KSU Narpuh, stopped the border fencing construction of Huroi area 1

Shillong: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Narpuh, yesterday stopped the border fencing construction in the International Indo- Bangla Border of Huroi are, under East Jaintia Hills District.

KSU Narpuh, stopped the border fencing construction of Huroi area 2

The reason for their action is because the company NBCC which is responsible for the road construction at the border and also the state government did not pay the compensation to those locals who were affected by this construction work.

It can be reminded that the KSU Huroi unit, had stopped the same fencing, on the 29th of November 2018, but at that point of time, the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills made a promise to pay the compensation and then made a request to allow the company to proceed with the constructions.

But with the passage of time no response were seen from both the company and also the state government. This silence from the government had greatly angered the local land owners and also the above said organization.

This led the organization to go ahead in stopping the construction works. A decision was taken by the organization and the locals to completely forbid the company NBCC in doing the construction. This injustice rectified should be rectified, said the general Secretary of the KSU Narpuh circle, Mr. Sanatomba Bamon.
