Nongpoh: Speaking at the occasion of the inauguration of the Trade Branch at Raid Marwet, Shri Paul Lyngdoh said that the District Council reserves its rights and powers granted by the Constitution of India to protect and prevent all unlawful trade activities under its jurisdiction. It will not remain complacent if any of such is still taking place.


The EM also said that the Council will take further measures to strengthen its trade administration in this area by implementation of land registration, Taxation and other issues as and when necessary. He said the Council will not shy away from exercising its authority to protect the land and trade of the indigenous people.
Further, the EM also voice his commitment to safeguard the borders of the State and in no way will he compromise any encroachment. Boundaries will be strengthened with proper and legal documents. He also urged the people in the area to work together towards this end.
