Shillong: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Meghalaya through its General Secretary bah Bashai Khongwir said his party will vouch for Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state to check influx of illegal immigrants.

Bah Bashai Khongwir thanks the Central government for exempting 97% percent of Meghalaya a Sixth Schedule area from CAB. Meanwhile, ILP is also now mandatory to check influx as in Manipur. He cites that the demand for ILP in Meghalaya was made since naduh 1973 and stronger in 2012 in which 13 social organisations led by KSU put up a strong fight in Meghalaya.
