Shillong: The surge in Covid-19 cases continued in Meghalaya with 1,123 new positive cases detected today the 22th of May 2021.
Out these 1123 fresh positive cases, 11 are from East Garo Hills, 21 are from East Jaiñtia Hills, 542 are from East Khasi Hills, 26 are from North Garo Hills, 277 are from Ribhoi District, 49 are from South Garo Hills, 29 are from South West Garo Hills, 20 are from South West Khasi Hills, 76 are from West Garo Hills, 60 are from West Jaiñtia Hills and 12 are from West Khasi Hills.
On the other hand, the State also registered 509 more recoveries from the Covid-19 pandemic today.
According to the reports given by the Health Services Director, Dr Aman War, during the past 24 hours, about 21 patients have succumbed to the infection, 19 are from East Khasi Hills and 2 are from West Jaiñtia Hills.
At present, Meghalaya has 7,454 active Covid-19 cases whereas the total fatality in the State is 435.
East Khasi Hills has 542 new fresh positive cases, 78 are high risk contact and 88 are symptomatic, 9 from Jaiaw, 27 from Laban, 9 from Laitkor, 6 from Laitumkhrah, 4 from Mawbah, 4 from Mawkasian, 82 from Mawlai, 5 from Mawlynrei, 10 from Mawpat, 13 from Mawprem, 6 from Mawsynram, 10 from Mylliem, 23 from Nongkseh, 10 from Nongmynsong, 4 from Nongrah, 5 from Nongrim, 19 from Nongthymmai, 18 from Police Bazaar, 11 from Pynursla, 8 from Smit and 8 from Upper Shillong.
Ri Bhoi has 277 fresh positive cases, 99 are high risk contact, 23 from Iew Mawlong, 10 are symptomatic, 17 from Diwon, 4 from Khweng, 9 from Mawkangni and 9 from Nongkya, 16 are policemen, 6 from Rangmen, 11 from Saiden, 12 from UCC, 8 from Umdihar, 24 from Umrangksai and 5 from Umsaw.
West Khasi Hills has 12 fresh positive cases and these 12 are from Mawlangwir, 60 are from West Jaiñtia Hills out of which 15 are high risk contact, 17 are symptomatic, 7 from Moosyiem, 15 from Mynska and 5 from Sahsniang.
