
Shillong: The stage is set for the battles between between Bah Teinwel Dkhar from United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Bah Latiplang Kharkongor from United Democratic Forum (UDF) for the election for the post of CEM today, the 22nd November 2019.
Bah Teinwel, MDC from UDP from Shella, while Latiplang Kharkongor an Independent MDC from Nongthymmai.
The election for the post of CEM will take place tomorrow at 11 am. The election will be 50-50 according to sources. There are 29 members in the house including the Chairman.
The battles is likely to be unpredictable and if there is a tie, Administrator Rule will be in place.
The UDA under the leadership of Bah Teinwell has the UDP 7, NPP 4, HSPDP 2, MDC Bah Lambor while the UDF under the leadership of Bah Latiplang has 14, 9 Congress, 2 NPP, PDF 1, Independent Kong Grace Mary Kharpuri, and Bah Latiplang Kharkongor. The chairman of KHADC Bah Pynshngain N Syiem is expected to be on the UDF side.
