New CEM yet to be recognized: Conrad 1

Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma today said the alleged interference in Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) by the government does not arise when the government is yet to recognize the New CEM.

Sangma said there has not been issued a notice on the election of new CEM, “as far as my knowledge is concern there is still no new CEM in the council.”

It must be mentioned, that the chairman of KHADC Pynshngain N Syiem said that the state government cannot interfere in the affairs of the council, only the opposition can serve a no confidence motion against the EC if they are in majority in KHADC.

On 26th November 2019 Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma refutes allegation that there is a tussle between Meghalaya government and Raj Bhawan after the Governor Tathagata Roy refuse to announce ‘Administrator’s Rule’ in Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
