Jowai: The war against illegal immigration continued with the arrest of 5 Nigerian by the East Jaintia Police in the last month from Dawki and Muktapur.
This incident surfaced yesterday when West Jaintia Hills Police under the Supervision of DSP Donkupar Moksha nabbed 3 Nigerian and 4 locals from War Jaintia for helping them crossing from Bangladesh to India.
The Nigerians are Chukwuma Celestine Okwuwa-34 years, Lucky Osas Enebi-36 years and Ndubuisi Moses Chime-28 years. The local aides are: Ronaldo Syndai- (21) Syndai Kmaishnong village, Ni Pohleng- (20) Syndai Lyngkot, Kliar Mon Pohthmi-(18) Syndai Kmaishnong and Rihok Chyrmang-(28) Syndai Kmaishnong. B. Police are investigating the nabbed.
All of them were nabbed at Pdeinshakap while they were on their way to Jowai. On spot investigation the nabbed Nigerians disclosed their routes from Logo, Nigeria
on 6th to Istanbul, Turkey then on 7th to Bangladesh, Dhaka and on 8th India Bangladesh border and on 9th twith the help of one Bangladeshi they crossed the river to Muktapur where from the Indian side the four persons helped them in.
On another separate incident, the police of Ratacherra yesterday night at around 11:15 PM caught another two Nigerians from one night bus ML 05M1899 heading from Agartala to Guwahati.
the duo foreign nationals travelled without proper documents. They only possessed the Xerox copy of poassport and said that the original is in Bangladesh. The duo are: Victor Ujichukwu Okeke (30) and Ifechkwu Emmanuel Obi (34).
