
Shillong: The three days Northeast Food Show 2019 came to a close today.on this day there is also a Chief Ministers Conclave participated by chief ministers of North Eastern States: Biplab Kumar Deb of Tripura, Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh, Conrad K Sangma of Meghalaya along with Union ministers which includes Rameshwar Teli, Kiren Rijiju and B. S Pant.
The host Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma informs that there are more than 250 participants in the Food Show showcasing variety of local cuisines and cooking styles from the North Eastern region. There were exchange of ideas and deliberations with hoteliers from different corners of India and local farmers
The Chief Minister also said his government is considering for a policy to recognize wine making which is already making headway in the state.
Kiren Rijiju Union minister of state, said that food is such a social event integral to the lives of the people and their culture it is highly advisable that such is promoted. He also praised the conservation and promotion of organic food the hallmark of indigenous people.
Rameshwar Teli another Union minister of State in-charge Ministry of Food Processing said that North Eastern Region is such a conducive place for organic farming. He encouraged the government in the region to promote this model even in other states of India.
