Patients made to wait long hours queue to see doctor at Mawkyrwat CHC: KSU 1

Shillong: KSU South West Khasi Hills District expressed anger and woe over the pitiable conditions where patients were made to wait for long hours to see the doctor at CHC ha Mawkyrwat kaba dei ka nongbah ka South West Khasi Hills.

In a press release the KSU states how from time to time patients in need of medical treatment were kept to wait for long. This is due to the lack of staffs and equipments in the CHC.

“The Union often found the defective function of this hospital in many respects and it caused unnecessary strains on patients especially those on emergency cases” says the Assistant Education Secretary bah Pulljohn Wanniang KSU. The poor suffer most in such situations.
Reporting from the ground, the KSU stated that it has been for one year now that the CHC has no full fledged District Medical & Health Officer despite the reminder and request to intervene on the part of the minister health department bah A. L Hek and the Director ka Health Services ( MI) .
This compelled the Union to strongly urge the government to immediately solve this long pending issue or face the consequences.
Further, what irked the Union is the unfulfilled plan of the government to construct a 100 bedded hospital promised eight years ago in which the foundation stone was laid. It seems that everybody turns a blind eye to this.
The KSU therefore, urged “we give one week’s time for the government to appoint a DMHO in the district failing which future course of action will be taken.” This is conveyed by Pulljohn Wanniang.
