Shoot at sight: Air Force to trespassers, FKJGP Upper Shillong seeks DC’s intervention 1

Shillong: Time and time again, the defence establishments creates unnecessary inconvenience and fear to the public instead of making bridges to win the love and trust of the people they served.

This time again, it is the Air Force Upper Shillong with its poster/signboard which reads: TRESSPASSERS WILL BE SHOT. The poster already provoked anger and reaction. The Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (JKJGP) today has petitioned before the Deputy Commissioner (DC) East Khasi Hills against this AESPA like warning to shoot anyone who trespass their jurisdiction.
FKJGP also criticised the Air Force for this barbaric intimidation of the public. Ever since 1963 till date there has never been any spat or bitter relationship between this establishment with the public in the area. Therefore, this kind of intimidating warning will spoil this amicable relationship and it is highly condemnable.
Thus, the FKJGP strongly urged the DC to intervene on the matter.
