Shillong: Meghalaya went down to Bengal by 54 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in Mumbai today.

Meghalaya won the toss and opted to field first and Bengal hit runs at a rapid rate, finishing their 20 overs on 207/4. Meghalaya’s wicket-takers were Abhay Negi (2/31), Raj Biswa (1/32) and Kilco Marak (1/32).

Meghalaya found the massive target difficult to chase, but Sanjay Yadav and Mark Ingty made a good go of it, finishing unbeaten on 45 and 39 respectively. Meghalaya ended on 153/4 in their 20 overs.

This was the 43-year-old Ingty’s first T20 match at the state level and this was the pace bowler’s highest score at the state level in any format.
