Shillong: The Executive cum zonal meeting of the KJDSTA and GHDSTA held in Shillong on the 31 August 2019 has decided with one voice to wear black flag across the State to protest the adamant attitude of the Government.
The main demand of the Teachers is that the Government to look into the pension schemes after they retire from service, others demand are the uniform leave like the maternity leave, the limit of DCRG which is 10 lakh, medical re-imbursement etc. All these demands have been recommended by the Meghalaya Fifth Pay Commission and also been clear by the Cabinet to implement the same to the deficit school teachers’ right from 2018, but the Government till now increase only the salary but no other benefits as recommended by the 5th Pay Commission. The protest of the teachers is that the Government till date has not released the 2nd installment arrear of the revised pay before the Teachers Day.The president of the KJSTA Babu Kular Khongjirem has appealed to all the teachers non-govt/deficit from primary to Higher Secondary Level to wear black flag and went to attended meetings in the School, District and Sub-Divisional Headquarter
