Jowai: Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills, Shri Lakador Syiem will receive the Union Home Minister Medal on his specialization in Training to the men in uniform in Meghalaya and also in North East India.
The award was conferred to him by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) Government of India under the Home Ministry and was formed in 1970 with an objective for modernisation of police forces in the country.
Lakador Syiem was the former Principal of the Police Training School (PTS) and also a teacher in the North East Police Academy (NEPA) since 2009at that time he was the Deputy Superintendent of Police.
Speaking over the phone, Syiem said that the medal is a trbute to all those lecturers or instructors (Guruji) and teachers in all the the Police Training Centre of the Meghalaya Police. Beside his skill in training, Syiem has been giving lectures on various issue such as drugs abuse, crimes against women and children.
