Jowai: It is heartening to see the seriousness of leaders in the District Councils in bringing lasting solution to controversy-raged interstate border along the Meghalaya-Assam border. Block I is one such area that face conflicts and hardships from time to time due to border problem with Assam.
Recently, the people’s representatives of Langpih areas has taken initiative in similar issues facing the people.
Now it is the turn of the JHADC. The initiative comes from none other than the CEM himself, Ma Thombor Shiwat, Speaking at a function to commemorate 25th Years of the Psiar UP School at Psiar Village which was in Block I, the CEM appeal to the residents of Block I to come forward with proper documents, register their lands free of cost and get possession of land pattas from the Council.
In today’s world registration is a must to prove one’s ownership of land.
Therefore, the CEM along with the local MLA Ma Nujorki Sungoh and Ma C. Ymbon Minister I/C PWD Building have shown their political will to help ending the prolong crisis the residents of the area faced. All these three leaders appealed to the people to come forward so that together they bring solution to the vexed problem.
Further, according to the local MLA Ma Sungoh, even the Chief Minister who was prevented from attending the function due to some urgent works assured the people that he too will look into the problem faced by the people of the area.
